Hello AGS.
My name is Carrol Thorn. In 1982 my family started out in AGS. So many fond memories that we have of the organization.
As with anything you have a lot of politics. I didn't enjoy that too much.
We started in the mini's and all the way up to the Womenn's league.
My daughter's name was Rhea lee Thorn.
Our first team was the purple pony tails, then Busy Bee's, and then the Bandits.
We won many a game there. This is where we discovered that my daughter was not only a ball player but also a pitcher.
Many girl's started out there in AGS on the West Side, most got really wonderful College schloarships. We later played in ASA under the name of Cubettes, also many wonderful memories there.
I have always felt it didn't make any difference if you were a recreational or competive player, the rules were the same in the game of softball. The biggest thing I think players, coaches, and parents and the board should do is give that (110 per cent in the game, and later to do that off the field.)
It was a wonderful experience, I hope you are are all having fun with the game of softball. Thank you for listening Carrol Thorn |
