Rule explanation: An infield fly rule is when there is a runner on first and second or bases loaded with less that two out. The batter hits a fly ball in the infield that can be caught with normal effort by an infielder. The batter is out and the base runners may advance at their own risk after the ball touches an infielder or the ground.
