JUNIORS
Ages 13-14 will be playing on Newland Field (#1) (90ft bases)

The Juniors Division. The Juniors section covers ages 13 and 14. This division usually has its own player agent and holds its own tryouts and draft, separate from the lower divisions.
Juniors games are played on a standard size baseball field, 90ft baselines and 60.5ft pitching distance. A game consists of 7 innings and is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Senior League Baseball. The only exception to those rules for regular season play is the the batting order is bat around.

The league provides a team Jersey, Hat, socks, and belt for each player. A T-shirt and team hat are provided for the manager and his/her coach. All team gear such as batting batting helmets, bats, catchers gear, etc are also provided by the league. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, baseball pants, and Metal baseball cleats. Except when pitching plastic baseball cleats must be worn when using the portable pitching mound.

Emphasis for the division is having a lot of fun ....

Some years, the sections of this division are changed such that maybe there is only a Juniors (13-15) and Bigs (16-18) or some other similar configuration.

Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is high. There is a playoff at the end of the season. Players age 13-14 are eligible for selection to the Juniors All Stars team. Teams participate in post season play that could extend all the way to the Little League World Series.

MAJORS
Ages 10-12 will be playing on Voak and Wells Fargo Field.

The Majors Division is the heart of Little League. It is composed of players age 10 - 12. There is a distinct line between the Majors Division and the Juniors Division. Whereas a highly skilled player might be shifted up from Rookies to Minors at age 9 or Minors to Majors at age 10, all 12 year olds must play in Majors and cannot move up to Juniors.
Majors games are played on a standard Little League size field, 60ft baselines and 46ft pitching distance. A game consists of 6 innings and is played according to the standard Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball. The only exception to those rules for regular season play is the the batting order is bat around. The outfield fence in Majors game is at 190-210 feet.

The league provides a team Jersey, Hat, socks, and belt for each player with the belt. A T-shirt and team hat are provided for the manager and his/her coach. All team gear such as batting batting helmets, bats, catchers gear, etc are also provided by the league. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, baseball pants, and plastic baseball type cleats.

Emphasis for the division is more towards situational skills and understanding the finer points of baseball.

Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is high. There is a double elimination playoff at the end of the season. Players age 10 are eligible for selection to the 9-10 All Stars team and post season play. Players aged 11 and 12 are eligible for selection to the 11-12 All Stars team and post season play that could extend all the way to the Little League World Series.

A
Ages 6-8 will be playing on Lennar and Hallmark Fields.

The A Division is composed primarily of players age 6 and 7, with some 8 year olds.

Single A games are played on a standard Little League size field, 60ft baselines and 46ft pitching distance. A game consists of 6 innings. Single A is an instructional division where the focus is on learning the fundamentals of baseball, especially throwing, catching and hitting. Competition is de-emphasized. Standings will not be kept. All 6 innings will be machine pitch. The batting order is bat around.

The league provides a team Jersey, hat, socks, and belt for each player with the belt. A T-shirt and team hat are provided for the manager and his/her coach. All team gear such as batting helmets, bats, catchers gear, etc., are also provided by the league. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, baseball pants, and plastic baseball type cleats.

There is a tournament at the end of the season, followed by a “Slug Fest” game with representatives from every team.

AA
Ages 7-9 will be playing on Newland (#1) and Voak (#2) Fields.

The AA Division is composed of players age 7 - 9. The age composition should be mostly 7 and 8 year olds with some 9 year olds.

Double A games are played on a standard Little League size field, 60ft baselines and 46ft pitching distance. A game consists of 6 innings. Double A is a transitional division where pitching is introduced and more emphasis is placed on fielding. Games will be played with 3 innings of Kid Pitch, followed by 3 innings of machine pitch. The Kid Pitch innings will follow CAPS rules: after the 4th called Ball, a Coach will be allowed 3 pitches to the batter.

Emphasis for the division is on expanding player’s baseball skills. The players learn to face a real pitcher better, to use better fielding skills (especially in the outfield), and start to learn coverage assignments.

Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is increased somewhat. There is a tournament at the end of the season, followed by a “Slug Fest” game with representatives from every team.

AAA - East
Ages 9-12 will be playing on Voak Field (#2) only.

The AAA Division is the formal start of Little League activities that extend beyond the local league. The division is composed of players age 9 - 12. The age composition should be mostly 9 and 10 year olds with some 11 year olds, and a few 12 year olds.
Triple A games are played on a standard Little League size field, 60ft baselines and 46ft pitching distance. A game consists of 6 innings. Four major changes occur between the Farm and AAA. First, there is no pitching machine. All six inning use players as pitchers as in normal baseball with a walk is issued after 4 balls. A second change is that the concept of stealing is introduced at mid-season. The third change is that there are only 3 outfielders. The fourth change is that a AAA game must be played on a field with a home run fence at 190-210 feet from home plate. An inning consists of 6 runs or 3 outs, whichever comes first. The batting order is bat around.

The league provides a team Jersey, hat, socks, and belt for each player with the belt. A T-shirt and team hat are provided for the manager and his/her coach. All team gear such as batting batting helmets, bats, catchers gear, etc are also provided by the league. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, baseball pants, and plastic baseball type cleats.

Emphasis for the division is on expanding players baseball skills. The players learn to face a real pitcher better, to use better fielding skills (especially in the outfield), and start to learn coverage assignments. In the second half of the season when stealing is allowed, the catcher position takes on much more importance.

Score is kept for each game and standings for the division are also kept. Competition is increased somewhat. There is a playoff at the end of the season. Players aged 9 and 10 are eligible for selection to the 9-10 All Stars team and post season play.

TEE BALL
Ages 5-7 will be playing on Lennar, Shea, and Hallmark Fields.

The TeeBall Division is designed for ages 5 - 7. Most players will play 2 years in this division (ages 5 and 6 or 6 and 7). So almost all of the 7 year olds will try out for Division A and will be drafted into that division. This range of age boundaries should allow the players to move as they develop instead of having to fit exactly according to fixed age groups. No tryouts are held, players just sign up and are assigned to a team by the TeeBall Division Director and the Player Agent.

TeeBall is played on a smaller field with 50 foot base paths. An inning is defined as one time - the batting order (not 3 outs). All players bat in each inning and all players play the field each inning. Coaches are allowed on the field with the players. The two main goals are to have fun and to start to learn the basics of baseball. Emphasis is given to throwing and catching. Hitting is done from a batting tee for the first half of the season while the coaches soft pitch for the second half of the season (each coach pitches to his own team). No score is kept and competition is minimized. A game consists of 3 innings.

The league provides a team hat and T-shirt for each player and for the manager and his/her coach. All team gear such as batting tee and batting helmets are also provided by the league. Each player is responsible for his/her own glove, baseball pants, and plastic baseball cleats.

This is a great time for LOTS of parent help!! You would be surprised how many people it takes to handle a dozen players at this age. No special skills are needed to help out so please volunteer if you can.
