14U American Athletics
Welcome to the 2008 American Athletics 14U Website!

Meet the ladies of the AA's 93:

Ariel * Lauren *  Savannah *  Emi * Juls * Aubree*  Molly * Dani * Josie * Chess  *  Meagan *

The American Athletics Girls Fastpitch Softball Club was founded by Jim Bollinger in 1994 and is predicated on showcasing the exceptional talent of fundamentally sound student athletes in Southern California to colleges nationwide. Our organization emphasizes hard work, commitment and dedication both athletically and academically. We take pride in equipping our athletes with the skills necessary to compete at the collegiate level. In addition, we are committed to providing each player with the opportunities necessary to obtain a college scholarship.

This season will be dedicated to our team mom, Pam Mendonca who lost her battle with colon cancer on April 2, 2008. Please go to "Links" under our menu for more information on Pam's legacy.

We love you Pam, you will be missed by all.

"Inspire others to live their life to the fullest."

Pam Mendonca, February 25, 2008

“It”

What is “it”?  Do you have “it”?  Does your team have “it”?

“It” is the desire to succeed, the drive to be better and the ambition to DOMINATE the competition.  “It” does not come from the coaches;  “It” comes from within.  So many times in sports you will see teams as well as individual athletes who have a lot of talent but fail to recognize their full potential.  It is these teams and individuals who don't have “it”.

If you have “it”

You will make a difference instead of making excuses.

You will be there for your team.

You will not show negative emotion on or off the field, only positive.

You will accept responsibility for your actions, both good and bad.

You will consider yourself valuable to the team no matter what your role.

You will learn from victory as well as defeat.

You will do your job when it is asked of you.

You will lead verbally or by example.

You will accept criticisms as a tool to make you better, not take it personal.

You will never give up.

You will take pride in the uniform you wear, it is a privilege.

You will compete to dominate the competition, not to just get by.

You will compete with confidence.

You will learn from physical and mental mistakes.

You will keep the “Spirit of Competition”.

You will help others in time of need.

You will be a teammate, like the teammate you want to have.

After you look at all the criteria on what “It” is ask yourself

Do I have any of these things?

Am I willing to try to improve myself?

Should  I accept anything less than 100% from myself or my teammates?

Then ask yourself,

“Do I have it?”
